Raising Awareness
My son's daycare had a Fall Festival this week. I decided to pay for a vendor table in order to raise awareness about the severity of food allergies. I think the school was happy since they had been having problems with some parents not following the rule of no outside food allowed. I gave away some chocolate chip cookies and brownies that I make without milk, eggs or nuts. I had my son's Epi-Pen on display along with a trainer for peple to try. I had handouts that FAAN was able to ship to me in time for the Festival including some to sign up for the Food Allergy Walk November 13th. I handed out some cards that have our blog spot to people who knew someone with a food allergy. I was really surprised how many people actually knew someone with a severe food allergy.

First Meeting
Our first meeting went well. We shared food brands, cook books, photos of our children, stores we shop at and our experiences. I look forward to meeting more people and creating a support group for the city of Fort Worth.

Welcome
Welcome to the EAT Fort Worth blog. EAT is a Fort Worth based support group for children and families of children who suffer from food allergies. Once we are up and running, we will have monthly meetings, quarterly family outings and events to help educate the community. I look forward to meeting all of you!
